Exhibited at Impromptu: E34/KM14, solo exhibition, Lokaal 01, Antwerp, 2014
As part of the residency at Frans Masereel Centrum, Kasterlee

The highway is a canvas, a surface covered with subtle or not so subtle witnesses of unforeseen events. Black lines every several metres. Sometimes they divert, sometimes they go straight ahead. They are traces of inattentive moments, of unexpected manoeuvres. They negate what the highway vouches for: an uninterrupted, unhindered path that provides high-speed and low-concentration passage between our destinations.

Impromptu: E34/KM14 was realised during a three-week residency at the Frans Masereel Centrum, Belgium, and is the result of an intensive research of brake-marks on the highway. The work was made using traditional and digital techniques and was silkscreen printed on the floor at Lokaal01, Antwerp.
